Approaching Eulalie again

I am still loving Eulalie. I’m a sucker for that beginning U sound, it seems. And Euphemia is a bit much for day to day use (and Mia’s pretty, but I would hate for that to be a primary nickname) So out goes Euphemia. (Too bad too, I loved her combo: Euphemia Elinor Glory).

So my thoughts returned to Eulalie.  I had Eulalie Frances Pearl as my top combo but thought I’d try a few newer ideas, see if I could better that. And here’s what I came up with:

Eulalie Iris Rosalind
Eulalie Frances Rosamond
Eulalie Iris Kathleen
Eulalie Caroline Pearl
Eulalie Viola Clarisse
Eulalie Scarlett June
Eulalie Rosamond Jane
Eulalie Saffron June
Eulalie Flora Valentine
Eulalie Zoya Katharine
Eulalie Magnolia Elinor
Eulalie Annabel Irene  – I actually don’t mind Annabel here!)
Eulalie Marilyn Scarlett – still looking for a place for Marilyn!
Eulalie Esme Katharine
Eulalie Marigold Jane
Eulalie Violet Elinor
Eulalie Iris Rosamond
Eulalie Iris Adele

Anything jump out at you?  I’m really digging Eulalie. It sounds beautiful and with Lolly a nickname option that greatly appeals, I really want to put her back on the list. What do you think about that, too?

I’d love to know. Thanks for stopping by, as always. I really do appreciate it!  😀

Toying with Maud again

I’ve been playing around with Maud again. Just because I can. I’m not removing Maud India Scarlett from #1 at all but it’s such a pretty name to toy with. And a bit challenging as a one syllable. So it appeals to me for that aspect as well.  Talking about Princess names at Nameberry yesterday and was reminded of the loverly Maud Angelica, Princess of Norway. Which is what prompted all the Maud in my head lately.  Here’s what came out along with my profuse apologies for the sheer amount of it!

MaudAngelina:

Sylvie Maud Angelina
Ottoline MaudAngelina
Marilyn Maud Angelina
Margaret Maud Angelina
Violet Maud Angelina (but I’m still not sold on Violet up front)
Clio Maud Angelina
Imogen Maud Angelina
Coralie Maud Angelina
Eulalie Maud Angelina (which Enchants me to no end!)
Rosalind Maud Angelina

Now, Maud Angelica itself:

Esmée Maud Angelica
Romilly Maud Angelica
Sylvie Maud Angelica
Sibyl Maud Angelica
Lilian Maud Angelica
Zoya Maud Angelica
Lily Maud Angelica
Jemima Maud Angelica
Eulalie Maud Angelica (I like I like Eulalie better with Angelina, I think)

and Maud up front:

Maud Alice Angelina
Maud Tallulah Frances
Maud Coralie Alice
Maud Lila Ottoline
Maud Aurelia Mathilde
Maud Iris Valentina
Maud Lucretia Cecile
Maud Lavender Delphine
Maud Elinor Raphaela

Like I said, I’m still completely enamoured with Maud India Scarlett, but it was fun to try out again. And if anyone else stumbles across this, looking doe some Maud love, well, it’s here!  😀

Anything up there strike you as better than Maud India Scarlett?  I don’t think so but hey, I’m not all knowing! 😉  What do you think, folks?

Phineas

Phineas charms me. Has since I was 12 and reading “A Separate Peace“. Awesome book, really dark and beautiful, in an odd sort of way. Anyway, back to Phineas. I think his day has come, with Finn being all the rage lately. Finn doesn’t appeal to me too much, but Phineas does. Handsome, strong and dashing. He’s charming all right. I was toying around with him today and came up with a  double handful of combos with his input. About half of them charm me, some of them (but not half) are lighting Him up. 🙂   Will you tell me what you like, and maybe why, if any?  Well, here:

Phineas  Anselm John
Phineas  Malcolm August
Phineas  Milo Edward
Phineas  James Aloysius
Phineas  Jasper Abram
Phineas  Henry Rafael
Phineas  William Porfirio
Phineas  Oliver George
Phineas  Alasdair George
Phineas  Malachy Arthur

What do you think of Phineas, Good, Bad or indifferent? Any of the combs jump out at you as really good or should I go back to the drawing board?  I want to know what you think!  🙂

Thank you, for your comments, and just because you stopped by!  😀

Rethinking Edith

Yes, again. We’ve been quibbling between Edith Zenobia Violet/Edith Zuleika Violet & Edith Violet Loveday.  In order to assuge some of that squabble, I went digging again, with help and we came up with two alternatives. I’m going to list all 5 and you tell me which one you like best, okay? it’s so much easier to be impartial this way!

Edith Zenobia Violet
Edith Zuleika Violet
Edith Violet Loveday
Edith Portia Isobel
Edith Ottilie Violet

There’s nothing funky, initial wise and the surname’s a three syllable Mac- name that the girls are just about getting tired of using lately. I am so relieved by that! I think Edith is stunning with the surname but we just cannot settle on a pair of middles. Care to help? I’d appreciate it very much!

As always, thanks for stopping by!  😀 What do you think of the new look?

Lettie Girls

I’m still rolling Lettie (and Laetitia) around in my head. I got to thinking “How many ‘Lettie’ names are out there and what are they”? So I went digging and came up with these:

Laetitia/Letitia/Leticia/Letizia
Violet
Scarlett
Paulette
Colette
Evolet
Ayelet
Juliet (which I really have no love for at all)
Lettice (which I know is unusable, I just adore it as a GP)
Eletra (Italian Electra)

For the record, Laetitia Amabel Viole tis still tops for me)

Can you think of any others? And which of these would you like to see used/which would you use?

What do you think?

As always, thanks for stopping by!  😀

Zelda

I’ve got Zelda Lucy Violet as the standard for a while but I was rethinking that a bit. I mean, I like it and it’s sooo pretty but can I do better, right? So I went digging again:

Zelda Mary Irene
Zelda Cleo June
Zelda Romilly Anouk
Zelda Iris Elinor
Zelda Margery Jane
Zelda Violet Blythe
Zelda Violet Pearl
Zelda Lilith Violet
Zelda Esmee Violet

There’s a least 3 that appeal up there, besides ZLV but that’s me. What I want to know is what do you think? Is there anything there stand better than Zelda Lucy Violet?    I’d love to know.  Any “think” at all  is welcome!

And, as always, Thanks for stopping by!  😀

Claud

I’ve really been digging Claud recently. No clue why, to tell the truth. I just find his one syllable sweetness kind of appealing.  I tossed together a few combos, wanna see?

Claud Maximilian Edward
Claud Laszlo Morgan
Claud Alasdair Porfirio
Claud Porfirio Reuel
Claud Barnaby Lorcan
Claud Lucius Niall

I have yet to run these past Him, but I’d love to get preliminary thoughts on Claud, Claud vs. Claude (I don’t know why the final ‘e’ spellings aren’t appealing to me anymore) and the combos themselves?  I’d appreciate it most mightily!

As always, thanks for stopping by!  😀

Narrowing India, Helen, Lazarus & Winifred

Yep, really.  We’ve got a few of each we’re both divided upon and need some help choosing the best of each set, whould you oblige? I’d appreciate the extra voice!

Here’s Helen:

Helen Saffron Adele – His favorite
Helen Ursula Violet – my favorite
Helen Tilley Violet – the not so perfect compromise?

India’s got a longer haul, He went through all the choices we had and narrowed it to 6. I like half of them, He likes the other half!  Here:
India Rosamond Violet   (Anyone see the link here?) ;P
India Ottoline Violet    (Still looking for a home for Ottoline)
India Clementine Jane (Still wondering if I should even have this one, or should it replace Clementine India Jane, which is #3?)
India Mehetabel Jane (Just loving Mehetabel to pieces)
India Scarlett Jane (he likes India & Scarlett together, I want Jane to ground them a bit more)
India Frances Valentina

Lazarus is down to three, His, Mine and a possible compromise:

Lazarus Edward Reuel
Lazarus Arthur James
Lazarus William Wilder

Can you guess which one’s whose favorite?

And last, but not least, Winifred, she’s definitely top 10 material but we’re down to two combos:

the new:
Winifred Lily Jane  -Winifred, Auntie Lily, Grandma, Jane, Mama
Winifred Elinor Plum – again, Auntie, Cousin, Just because we like it.

So, care to pick & choose among these? I’d appreciate it. I’m getting tired of the back & forth!

As always, Thanks a million And again, Thanks for stopping by!  😀

Keep an eye out for Claud a bit later, too!

India & Lazarus

Thinking about these two today. I’m still trying out India in front and Lazarus, well, I’m tired of putting him in the middle, so I’m trying him out in first place too. India’s just so lush and rich to me. I love her color (a nice, dusky red) and the fact that three syllables are packed into 5 little letters. So awesome!

Came up with a handful of each that appeal, Sorry for the long lists but here:

India Frances Camille
India Frances Raphaela
India Frances Valentina
India Rosamond Violet
India Ottoline Violet
India Clementine Jane (But this is a flipped around: Clementine India Jane)
India Mehetabel Jane (probably my favorite one)
India Scarlett Jane

Now Lazarus, as a sound has enthralled me since I was tot, sitting in church listening to the stories. Such a snappy, strong sound. And handsome, too.  What really made it hop into mind though is “Black Snake Moan” yeah, it’s an odd little movie but with Samuel L Jackson and Christina Ricci (I adore her!) , it was worth the shot. And it turned out to be pretty good too. Samuel L Jackson’s character is Lazarus!  It was lovely, hearing Lazarus for about an hour & a half too. So here are my attempts to put Lazarus up front:

Lazarus Edward Reuel
Lazarus Milo Rex
Lazarus Morgan Amadeo
Lazarus Arthur James
Lazarus Rohan Jude (Rohan is a Sanskrit Rowan, to me)
Lazarus Malcolm Rex
Lazarus August Bede
Lazarus Vincent Oliver
Lazarus Claud Taliesin
Lazarus William Wilder

I’m rather taken with simple Claud, too lately. I think he’s pretty spiffy. Solid & handsome. Funnily enough, Claude looks lopsided to me, but Claud is lovely. What do I have against that final ‘e’, I wonder?  But maybe I’ll toy with him another day. Concentrating on Lazarus now.

Does anything from either list jump out at you as pretty good? Or better? Maybe worse? I don’t know. There’s a few of which I like, but I have a definite favorite of the India combos and a definite of the Laz combos too.  Not saying anything more than that, though!  What do you think? I’d love to know!  😀

Laszlo

Snazzy Laszlo. I do think he’s pretty neat and he honors an oddball cousin (who paved the way for me) as well as backhandedly Grandpa & Pop, both Leslie’s (well, Pop’s middle). They’re reportedly related names. (I can’t find anything but the supposition that they are, but they seem similar enough that it’s remotely possible). Never mind he’s stuck on Laszlo because of Paul Henreid & “Casablanca”.  And since it’s family, I can humor him!

I get a neat image of a Laszlo, too. He’s tall, dark, well muscled and an artist type, quiet, sensitive and perceptive.   With that sort of image in my head, he’d suit a boy of mine most perfectly!  And to top off that, Laz is a definite nickname option! I generally toy with Lazarus because of Laz and that darling -us ending) but Laszlo is family and I can still get Laz from him. How cool!

I have a few combos. Laszlo’s tough to pair. The classics go alright but anything funkier feels funny.  So here’s what I came up with, with help:
Laszlo Edward Grey
Laszlo Edward Gabriel
Laszlo Edgar John
Laszlo Maxim Gavriel
Laszlo Albert Gavriil
Laszlo Miles Gavriil
Laszlo Arthur Morgan
Laszlo Malcolm Jude
Laszlo Rafael George
Laszlo Xavier James

What do you think of Laszlo himself, decent, not? What?   Any combo up there strike you as pretty cool/decent/usable/whatever?

Helen

I’m quite enamored with Helen at the moment.  It’s a definite family name for me, I have three Aunts with the name (well, 2 Helens 1 Helena) but I prefer simple Helen to Helena these days, even. And the last Helen is on her last legs as I type this. She’s not doing well at all.

I think it’s brilliantly simple and beautifully strong. Helen’s warm honey to me,  and I’m liking her a whole lot. Tried my hand at combos, preliminarily anyway. Here’s what I came up with, and is now narrowed a bit:

Helen Saffron Adele
Helen Calliope Jane
Helen Ursula Violet
Helen Isolde Ruby
Helen Aurelia Violet
Helen Rosamond Lily
Helen Tilley Violet

I decided to try Saffron out with Helen because they’re almost the same color (not shade) to me, Saffron’s yellow/orange gold and Helen’s honey gold. Ursula is one I just like.  ur -SU- lah.  Primrose is just a bit of whimsy I didn’t think would hurt Helen much and I tried the familial Tilley out in full, I figure, if Leo, Simon & Josephine have a family surname in the middle, Tilley should work too.  Of course, Jane, Lily, Ruby, Violet, Marigold, Ottilie & Lucy have significance and Isolde, Camilla, Calliope, Aurelia, Plum & Adele are just ones we like.  But I figure with two family names, I can spare a bit for something we just really like!

Anything jump out at you as emminently usable? Am I on the right track, at least? What do you think, anything?

As always, thanks a million for stopping by!

Frances Ruby

I’m sort of stuck on this pairing. Isn’t it sweet and just a little sassy? My Mother would kill me if she were still around but seeing as how she’s not and I still have a pretty visceral reaction when I see people that remind her of me (wanna know what really flips me out? Watch Mamma Mia, Meryl Streep in that flick looks a LOT like my Mom. Longer hair, not curly but the same shade of blonde, same nose, same movements) it makes me cry every time I watch it.

So yeah, She might forgive me. Might.

So I went looking. I have two where Frances is up front:
Frances Ruby Esme
Frances Ruby Adele

And here’s a small bunch with Frances Ruby in the middle:

Tallulah Frances Ruby
Cosima Frances Ruby
Stella Frances Ruby
Katharine Frances Ruby
Philippa Frances Ruby
Matilda Frances Ruby

Which way do you prefer it and is there any combo up there that seems a perfect fit? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this one!
