Edith

Crushing on Edith again. Especially Edith Alice together. Now, just to find that perfect second middle!

Edith Alice Bertille – my standard bearer, I just adore her starchy feel and her slight frill too. But I wonder if I can do better?

So here’s my newer ones:

Edith Alice Valentina – Pop wouldn’t mind the frillier -a here for him.

Edith Alice Pomeline – I don’t want to lose Pomeline entirely, maybe here will work?

Edith Alice Minerva -Loving stern Minerva, but maybe too stern?

Edith Alice Petronella – I love the doll-like feel of Petronella, and it honors G. Uncle Pyotr too.

Edith Alice Clothilde – I adore Clothilde and am still trying to find a home for her, here?

Edith Alice Philomela – Philomela’s just gorgeous and I love her meaning: “friend of song” Sad story, but pretty sound.

and then the oddball: Edith Esme Violette. Esme for Esmeralda, Violetta for Violet which is starting to get too hot for my liking.

What do you think of these? Anything leap out at you as better? Feel free to tell me what you think of these, good, bad or otherwise. I’m really scratching my head wondering bout them.

As always, Thanks!

Ottilie, again

I’m still loving Ottilie. Ottoline’s still hanging around in my head, but not on the list anymore. Ottilie’s a touch more mainstream in that searches will pull up  a good number of Ottilies, Ottoline mostly pulls up Morrell.

Ottilie Alice Mehitabel has been my lushest  Tillie combo to date but I wanted to try out a few others that also appeal, humor me, please? 🙂  Here:

Ottilie Alice Valentine – Valentine for Pop.

Ottilie Alice Godeleve – I just adore medieval Godeleve.

Ottilie Alice Ghislaine – was G.Grandma’s first middle, Maud followed.

Ottilie Alice Celandine – Celandine’s just so pretty!

Ottilie Alice Gwendolen – I like Gwendolen’s lush but familiar feel. Not as much as the previous ones  but enough to include her.

Ottilie Alice Celestine – not sure about the repeating sounds but I love Celestine’s meaning  “of the sky, heavenly”. Beautiful, no?

and the last, but not least,

Ottilie Alice Lavender – Pretty, pretty, pretty!     😀

Anything there appeal more than Ottilie Alice Mehitabel?  Feel like selling it to me? 😉  I’ll take anything!

Cosmo, Again

I’m still working on Cosmo. I don’t want to lose him because he feels so beautiful to me but can’t think of a combo that sings like Rufus’. Cosmo Henry Graham was it for the longest time, an still is, for the most part. I really dig Cosmo George ____ but think Cosmo _____ George flows better. I’ve had Cosmo Willem George too, which pleases me but no one else, it seems. So I went thinking again, because I *really* like Cosmo _____ George; here’s the few that I’ve come up with:

Cosmo Rohan George – That Rohan like Rowan, not Ro-han, like LOTR, although I could live with that if he gets it.This combo’s blue green yellow to me. Blue for Cosmo, Green for Rohan and yellow for George.

Cosmo Maxfield George – Maxfield again for Parrish, my favorite artist of all time. I really dig this one but think the flow’s a bit off. Am I crazy? blue, green yellow here. Maxfield’s a pretty subdued green.

Cosmo Alasdair George – Flow’s spot on and I really like Alasdair. Not as much as Maxfield but almost. Alasdair’s silver. Blue, silver, yellow. Kind of pretty but a bit bright.

Cosmo Gavriil George – I adore Gavriil, he was one of my G. Uncles. I think I’ve mentioned Gavriil before. It’s pronounced: gah-vree-EEL I slur it a bit, so it comes out more like gah-vrEEL, but that’s how I always heard it as a kid, I don’t think the family’d freak too badly. And I think he’s kind of funky. I like Gavriil, about as much as Maxfield, both in looks and sound. Blue, copper, yellow. Gavriil’s a pretty coppery orange and meshes well between the other two.

And that’s it. Nothing more strikes my fancy between Cosmo & George.

What do you think? Anything leap out at you as nifty? Talk to me! 🙂

A Minor Bump with Maud…

Saw a post last night at Nameberry, somebody has daughters named India Scarlett & Ruby Ophelia. I posted giving her ideas for a third, because that’s what she was asking for, and had to mention that my #1 was Maud India Scarlett. It actually freaked me out a little. Would you still consider your combo if you saw that? I mean, I still am but wondering if I should. Probably yes but like I said, it did flip me out a fair bit. I’d never seen those two names together and here’s a lady with a daughter with two thirds of my favorite combo! Ack!

What would you do?

Penelope?

I had thought about Penelope a good while ago but she came back late last night (I don’t know what set it off) and I thought I’d try her out bit. I came up with a double handful of combos with a bit of help, but these are my favorites.  What do you think of these?:

Penelope Frances Petronel
Penelope Saffron Blythe
Penelope Violet Fay
Penelope Oona Marigold
Penelope Sibyl Jane
Penelope Violet June
Penelope Iris Valentina

I don’t know exactly which nickname I’d choose for Penelope, Poppy? Penny? Nell? I’ve seen Lola tossed around for Penelope online, but I couldn’t use that, that’s me! Nell, most likely, or Poppy. Penny still screams 60’s, it’s all “Space Family Robinson” to me.

Penelope’s not my usual style, she’s a bit light & breezy for me. But she does intrigue me and I’m a little smitten. Might just be a crush though. *shrug* It’s still fun to play around! So, so any of those up there do anything for you,  shine in any particular way? I’d love to hear thoughts on Penelope!

Alright, now what?

Tallulah Poppy Frances is clearly the winner for me, but now where do I add her? What should I take away to add her?

Help me out, in decending order, the girls:

Maud India Scarlett – Maudie
Ottilie Alice Mehitabel – Tillie
Clementine India Maud – Cleo
Winifred Elinor Plum – Winnie
Lucretia Ruby Iris – Lucy
Zelda Coralie Blithe – Zella
Pomeline Frances Elinor – Millie

Where does Tallulah – Lulu, fit in? I’m clearly not gong to write off any of the top 3, but Winifred to Pomeline, which one should I knock off to add Tallulah? Or should I not bother at all? I’m curious as to what you’d do in my shoes. Tell me!

Tallulah

Yep, Tallulah. I’ve toyed with her before, she was my Grandpop’s mom. And I love her loose and funky sound. I never knew her, but I have cousins who did and would remember her for my kids, which is kind of nice.  She came up yesterday as an alternative to Tullia by the lovely Melissa2 on the Nameberry boards. And I was immediately intrigued.  Intrigued to the point that I was coming up with combos last night while watching re-runs of Star Trek (yeah, we have the whole run on DVD) ! I’m quite happy with a few of these, wanna see? 🙂

Tallulah Poppy Frances
Tallulah Daisy Kathleen
Tallulah Viola June
Tallulah Alice Marigold
Tallulah Sophie Plum
Tallulah Katharine Violet
Tallulah Margery Violet
Tallulah Ivy Isobel
Tallulah Violet Irene
Tallulah Catherine Plum

Like I said, I’m fond of a few of these. I’m not saying which few now. maybe later!

What do you think of Tallulah? Like her or not? Too weird with Josephine? Tell me!  😀

 As always, Thanks!

Tillie & Tullia

After brewing Tillie combos because of the family link, I’ve fallen in love with Tullia, ancient Roman dear she is.  Some days I think she’s a bit frilly. Tullia reminds me of nothing more than tulle. But I’m discovering I like frill in small doses. Who knew? 🙂 I like Tullio too, for a boy but can’t get it past the other half.  I have a few thought for a beginning combo, but nothing full yet:

Tullia Lucy
Tullia Ivy
Tullia Frances
Tullia Jane

I’m still thinking though./ Done thinking, what about these?:
Tullia Lucy Scarlet
Tullia Lucy Petronel
Tullia Ivy Rosalind
Tullia Ivy Catherine
Tullia Frances Lenore
Tullia Jane Petronel

On the update front, Here’s  the narrowed bunch:

Ottilie
Clementine
Maud
Cecily
Zelda
Lucretia

with Pomeline the wildcard, I’d be sad if she vanished.

Rufus
Cosmo
Remy (can’t shake them both off!)
Clarence
August
Arthur

and Barnaby’s staying as a wildcard, for now. Neither one of us wants to see him gone.

Help!

I want to narrow my top 10 to a top 5, at least for now. I’m going to either/or them and pick one? Thanks!

Ottilie or Jemima?
Winifred or Clementine?
Maud or Zelda?
Beatrix or Cecily?
Lucretia or Pomeline?

Cassius or Clarence?
Remy or Cosmo?
Rufus or Barnaby?
Alasdair or August?
Arthur or Francis?

I couldn’t choose if my life depended on it.  One minute it’s one way, the next it’s the other. I love them all and just cannot decide which 5 are best! Can you help? I’d really appreciate it!

As always, Thanks! 😀
