Saw a post last night at Nameberry, somebody has daughters named India Scarlett & Ruby Ophelia. I posted giving her ideas for a third, because that’s what she was asking for, and had to mention that my #1 was Maud India Scarlett. It actually freaked me out a little. Would you still consider your combo if you saw that? I mean, I still am but wondering if I should. Probably yes but like I said, it did flip me out a fair bit. I’d never seen those two names together and here’s a lady with a daughter with two thirds of my favorite combo! Ack!
What would you do?

Wow that would freak me a bit! To have an original, not common combo and see it on someone else’s child….weird. I would still consider my combo, but it would definitely shock me a bit.

One of my dearest friends was planning on calling her daughter Caroline Claire, so yup – I’ve had the same feeling of freefall! Luckily, she had a Charles instead. 🙂
Honestly, it wouldn’t stop me – especially as she’s someone you’ve only met in a chatroom. If it were a cousin, neighbor or friend, I might feel differently.

Freaky, yes. But not worth reconsidering… I second Verity – if it’s a family member or friend, then it’s impetus to reconsider, but someone you are unlikely to ever run across in “real life” – no reason to change your mind…

Thanks Gang! I really didn’t want to have to ditch Maud and was almost in tears thinking about having to, which completely solidified Maud India Scarlett in my head. She is definitely staying #1! Thank you! 😀

Hey, I probably wouldn’t get to use it, but would you mind if I shortlisted Maud? You’re love for it so much has really made it seem to shine lately!

Not at all! I think the world needs more Maud/Maudes. so soft & warm, definitely shortlist Maud, if you like Maud as much as I! 🙂 Use it too!

I love Maud India Scarlett. Don’t get rid of it. While India Scarlett is pretty, Maud adds quite a bit more solidity to the combo.

Oh, I know just how you feel. I’m faintly ridiculous in that if I see someone considering a name I too am considering, I get angry, and if I see them belittling a name I like I get angry! They just can’t win! That being said, please don’t dispose of Maud India Scarlett, it’s gorgeous.
