I’m sort of stuck on this pairing. Isn’t it sweet and just a little sassy? My Mother would kill me if she were still around but seeing as how she’s not and I still have a pretty visceral reaction when I see people that remind her of me (wanna know what really flips me out? Watch Mamma Mia, Meryl Streep in that flick looks a LOT like my Mom. Longer hair, not curly but the same shade of blonde, same nose, same movements) it makes me cry every time I watch it.
So yeah, She might forgive me. Might.
So I went looking. I have two where Frances is up front:
Frances Ruby Esme
Frances Ruby Adele
And here’s a small bunch with Frances Ruby in the middle:
Tallulah Frances Ruby
Cosima Frances Ruby
Stella Frances Ruby
Katharine Frances Ruby
Philippa Frances Ruby
Matilda Frances Ruby
Which way do you prefer it and is there any combo up there that seems a perfect fit? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this one!

Rethinking Esmeralda completely thanks to someone on BtN (Bear, thank you!). Esmeralda was G. Grandma’s older sister and the mother hen of the gang of them. I’ve always loved the name, it’s so lush and rich. Starting to think of combos but wondered if I could get thoughts on Esmeralda by herself. Anything at all, thoughts wise, is welcome. Too odd with the last name? Esmeralda MacK–?
Whaddaya think?
(sorry this is so late, spent most of today geting ready for Easter as well as a birthday party tomorrow! )
Imogen again and a few Genevieve combos

I started thinking about how perfect Imogen is. Sound-wise, she’s crisp, clean looking and simply elegant. Sound wise, she’s sharp and pretty. Her color is simply golden and she looks fabulous with the forest green surname, like an Xmas decoration! And on top of that, she’s Shakespearean, what’s not to love?
I have a few combos for her that really appeal:
Imogen Violet Jane
Imogen Sylvie Jane
Imogen Clio Violet
Imogen Lily Elinor
Imogen Ruby Valentine
and the real oddball: Imogen Ruby Malu
Now, for Genevieve combos. This is how I spent my time last night. Watching Monty Python; have the whole series (all 46 episodes) and last night was the “Spam” , the Royal Episode #13. “Whicker’s World” (Njorl’s Saga), and “Mr. & Mrs. Brian Norris’ Ford Popular”. So my brain was free to wander while I laughed my fool head off. Yeah, we average about 4 episodes a night (And I found my head at to foot of the big screen).
Anyway, Genevieve combos:
Genevieve Iris Elinor
Genevieve India Pearl
Genevieve Viola Frances
Genevieve Lucy Elinor
Genevieve Ottilie Jane
Genevieve Sylvie Plum
Genevieve Esme Lily
Genevieve Lily Katharine
Genevieve Mina Violet
Genevieve Carys Primrose
Anyone wanna help me narrow it down? We each have a favorite or two among these, but I’m staying mum on that for now! Any thoughts welcome and as always, thanks for stopping by!
Araminta & Zuleika

I’ve got both on the table again, Zuleika for him, Araminta for me. I really do like Araminta and would likely call her Minna or Mina as a nickname. As I’ve already said, Josephine is “My Little Pony” mad and as such, could never use Minty! *This* is Minty:
Araminta Lucy Violet I have and Araminta Alice Green, I had. Both are still floating around my head, and am trying to decide between.
For Zuleika, I’ve got Zuleika Esme Violet on the list now, as a wildcard but am thinking Zuleika Frances right now. Am looking for a second middle and have come up with these, so far:
Zuleika Frances June
Zuleika Frances Primrose
Zuleika Frances Adeline
Zuleika Frances Viola
Zuleika Frances Isobel
Zuleika Frances Leonora
Zuleika Frances Scarlett
Zuleika Frances Adele
Zuleika Frances Blythe
Zuleika Frances Mathilde
And that’s the best I can do, for now anyway. I’m still thinking. I should, he humors me.
Is there anything there that jumps out at you or just strikes your fancy? I’m thinking June, Primrose (just because it’s family), Adele (f I can get him to stop saying it as AY-dell, like they do in “Natural Born Killers”) and Blythe are my best rhythm- goers. Help? Please? Maybe I need to rethink Frances as a middle. Hmmm.
Cleo

Yes, still loving Cleo. She’s simply velvet on my tongue and sings a sweet contralto coming out of my mouth.
I’ve had Cleo Portia Rupinder as a combo for a few weeks, and while I’m completely enamoured with her, it seems no one else is. So I thought I’d give Cleo a few more shots, see if anything else pops out at anyone. Here are my attempts last night:
Cleo India Apolline
Cleo Frances Matilde
Cleo Laetitia Valentine
Cleo Poppy Mehitabel
Cleo Iris Pandora
Cleo Penelope Iris
Cleo Saffron Isobel
Cleo Esme Genevra
Cleo Junia Eglantine
Yeah, they’re all oddballs. There’s a few up there I like quite a bit but don’t think anything comes close to Cleo Portia Rupinder. Of course, she’s not likely to be used, with Clementine India Maud still in place on the lists. But I keep adding her too because she seems so entrancing, another short, sweet dear. What do you think, folks? Anything there worth saving?
Edith

Crushing on Edith again. Especially Edith Alice together. Now, just to find that perfect second middle!
Edith Alice Bertille – my standard bearer, I just adore her starchy feel and her slight frill too. But I wonder if I can do better?
So here’s my newer ones:
Edith Alice Valentina – Pop wouldn’t mind the frillier -a here for him.
Edith Alice Pomeline – I don’t want to lose Pomeline entirely, maybe here will work?
Edith Alice Minerva -Loving stern Minerva, but maybe too stern?
Edith Alice Petronella – I love the doll-like feel of Petronella, and it honors G. Uncle Pyotr too.
Edith Alice Clothilde – I adore Clothilde and am still trying to find a home for her, here?
Edith Alice Philomela – Philomela’s just gorgeous and I love her meaning: “friend of song” Sad story, but pretty sound.
and then the oddball: Edith Esme Violette. Esme for Esmeralda, Violetta for Violet which is starting to get too hot for my liking.
What do you think of these? Anything leap out at you as better? Feel free to tell me what you think of these, good, bad or otherwise. I’m really scratching my head wondering bout them.
As always, Thanks!
Winifred & Maud

My current infatuations on the girls side. I adore Maud and have for a while. She’s not so much an infatuation as a long term crush. I love her but don’t know how workable she is with the existing kids. Winfred’s a bit less long term. I’ve admired her for years but only recently have been brave enough to actually put her on the list.
I’ve been thinking of combos for Winifred and have pretty much decided on Winfred Esme as a first two. Esme for me honors Great Auntie Esmeralda, whose name I love but find a bit unwieldy with the scottish Mac- surname. So, my options are:
Winifred Esme Ruby
Winifred Esme Frances
and
Winifred Esme Valentine
Maud has her combo, Maud India Scarlett. I absolutely love it. She sounds so lush.
I also had the rather Victorian/gothy Maud Coralie Alice for a while but much prefer Maud India Scarlett.
What do you think of Winifred & Maud? Their combos? Winifred’s my #4, Maud’s my #3 right now. Am I crazy for thinking of these two? Tell me!
As always, Thanks for stopping by and speaking out!
Beatrix, Again

I can’t seem to let go of Beatrix, but I am rethinking her combo. Beatrix Poppy Elinor charms me with her upbeat sound and her bright colors but it feels almost too “British” if that makes any sense. But Beatrix, I can’t shake her off. I keep thinking “I hear her a lot online” And that scares me off a bit. I don’t want her to have a dated name, and I’m a touch afraid that Beatrix might. But I like her so! So I’m rethinking middles for her.
Which means, I’m running a poll at BtN, as usual, and as usual, here are those poll choices; in case you don’t want to bother clicking.
Beatrix Elinor Plum – Elinor honors the cousin, Plum has a luscious sound I just want to be able to say daily!
Beatrix Esme Ruby – Esme for Esmeralda who sounds ridiculous with my surname, Ruby’s for me, my birthstone!
Beatrix Esme Valentine – Mentioned Esme above, Valentine’s for my Pop.
Beatrix Alice Rupinder- Alice should have been my name, to honor thwarted Mom, Rupinder is just a love. I love her feel, her sound and her look. Can’t ask for more!
Beatrix Malu Primrose- I love the sound of Malu (meaning’s pretty awesome too) Primrose is a cousin.
Beatrix Romilly Violet- Finally, Romilly where I would feel more comfortable, Violet for my favorite Auntie on Mom’s side.
Beatrix Lily Alice – Lily for Grandma Lily, Alice for my Mom again.
Beatrix Oona Pearl- Oona’s a love, I like her swoop, her feel: sleek and Pearl because I like the way it looks and sounds follwing Oona.
and can’t forget to add the standard bearer: Beatrix Poppy Elinor - Poppies are one of my favorite flowers, the color alone makes me smile. My Uncle Jim thinks Poppy’s for him, they’re apparently his favorite flowers too. And Elinor’s that cousin again.
So, should I even bother? Is Beatrix going to be the next to jump upwards? (this is the same problem I have with Clementine, she’s gone from being #1 two years ago, to being #10, and that’s after being #17 for a good while) Anyway, should I worry, or is Beatrix worth it? And which combo do you like best? I’d love to know. Anyone happening along, feel free to add your 2¢! New voices are always welcome!
Update: Down to three combos:
Beatrix Scarlet Jane
Beatrix Elinor Plum
Beatrix Jemima Alice
Have a favorite here? Let me know, if you’re reading!
Eulalie, Third Time’s a Charm?

Maybe?
I’m still loving Eulalie. Even though I’m not satisfied with her present combo and still searching for a replacement.
Eulalie Frances Madelief is the lovely standard bearer. I’ve had her combo around for about half a year now but I’m becoming disenchanted with the overall look. Eulalie’s different. Sounds vaguely familiar to most but still feels a bit unususal. I really think she’s awesome.
So I’ve been digging around the various lists and have come up with 5 that charm me in various ways. I have them running off in a poll at BtN but I’ll list them here too, just in case anyone has trouble with the link or just doesn’t want to click.
Eulalie Frances Pearl
Eulalie Alice Grey
Eulalie Esme Katharine
Eulalie Saffron June
Eulalie Ivy Frances
Eulalie Isobel Green
Do you have a favorite? Care to sell me on it? I like all of them in turns and can give you a good reason why I like each. I need a nudge in one direction or another. Thanks!
Agatha

I absolutely love Agatha. I have since I was a kid. I first read Agatha Christie’s “Ten Little Indians” (also known as “And Then There Were None”) when I was 7. I loved it and went on to read just about everything by her a 7 year old could get her hands on. Thankfully, my Pop was sympathetic to the voracious reader I was then (and still am). So Agatha not only brings back great memories of Pop, she makes me feel good! I don’t mind Aggie as a possible nickname but am wondering if I could potentially get Thea out of Agatha as well. Any other nickname options I’m not seeing? Somehow, I think not.
I’ve had her on my list before, as Agatha Esme Bluebell (She started as Esme Agatha Bluebell, but decided I liked Agatha better up front). I’ve been rethinking the combo, especially since Josephine got a baby doll for Xmas that she named Bluebell! Since then, I’ve come up with 5 that charm me utterly:
Agatha Esme Plum – Esme’s for G. Auntie Esmeralda (whose name I adore but find too unwieldy with the Scots surname)
Agatha Alice Violet/Agatha Violet Alice (can’t decide which way) - Alice for me, Violet for my most favorite Auntie.
Agatha Ruby Malu (I find this so fun to say aloud!) – Ruby’s for me, Malu I just adore her light feel!
Agatha Lily Frances – my Grandma & my Mom, ‘nuf said.
Agatha Lucy Rosalie – Lucy was my Mom’s top choice for me, Rosalie I just love. I’ve tried Rosalie just about everywhere but I’m really loving her here!
I just can’t decide among them yet, but maybe with a bit of help I could? It’s after noon and here’s the Agatha poll! So, What do you think of the formidable Agatha and do you like any of my combos for her?
As always, Thanks!
