A sometimes crazed individual with a passion for Onomastics and etymology, among other things. I love my partner, my children, my friends, movies, camping, reading, drawing, cooking (or just creating anything), late nights, coffee and chocolate.
Among my hates: Mornings (bitter enemies with 7 am), people who name their kids with little to no thought, people who cannot type a decent sentence and stupid people in large groups. I’d much rather run into stupidity in a one on one situation!

Hi Lola, You were recommended to me by Emmy Jo. She had decided that from my posts on Y!A that maybe I were you. We do have extremely similar taste in names.I was beginning to think that I was alone in Loving names like Ottilie!
Emmy Jo says that you are Wiccan. As am I. I have a 17 year old daughter named Hermione. She is named for my Grandmother’s best friend actress Hermione Gingold. Not Harry Potter.
Reading your “about me” I see where people could think that we are the same person. Except for camping ( I hate to get dirty ) are likes are identical.
I am an artist known on Y!A as Night Owl. My favorite names are Eglantine and Calidore with Persephone and Constantine running a close second. I will be visiting your site often, for some name sanity.

I’m really liking your website. Ironically I also have a daughter called Josephine though also a son name Arthur. I’m pregnant again due in September with twins. I thought I’d just give a friendly hello to you, thankyou for having a site like this it helps for mothers to be, playing with names and talking to people with like minded opinions. Hi Milly! I would be just about 5 months pregnant if I hadn’t miscarried in January. We just got the okay to try again, so it’s still a possibility! How old are Josephine & Arthur (have you noticed Arthur’s on our lists as well? It’s a family name for us and I think Arthur’s just aces!)

Hi Lola! Stumbled onto here from Emmy Jo’s blog, and after seeing a bit of your posts, I was just wondering: What are your childrens’ names? Feel free to include as much as you feel comfortable with, I don’t want that question to seem stalker-ish. I know there’s a Josephina (LOVE the name!), but do you have other children? What’s Josie’s middle name(s)? Sorry about the over-abundance of slightly weird questions, I just absolutely love names as well.

Hi Emygirl! We’ll she’s Josephine, not Josephina, and her nicknames vary with the sun, today she’s Poppy! The boys are Leo & Simon but they’re out on their own now, only Josie’s home. If you look around the site, I’m sure you’ll find their full names but I promised the boys that I wouldn’t anymore. Josie’s middles are Rosamel Anne.

Oops! I meant to type Josephine, but my favorite names typically end in -a, so I guess habit caught me at a bad time there! Love the boy’s names, too. Is Leo short for anything, or is it just Leo? Either way is grand; My mother’s father’s name is Leonard, and it’s in the top 3 for my middle name choices. Also want to add that Rosamel is a lovely, and interesting Ros- name! Is it a family name, a combination, or just a name you heard of & love? Once more, I apologize for the many questions.
